2015: Making my Goals Public

2015-goals2015 is going to be the first year that I make my goals public. By putting them out there for all visitors to my website and my social media followers to see I will raise my standards to the level required for me to achieve them. I recently wrote about the Goals that I managed to achieved in 2014 and the Post regarding my 2015 goals will be even better reading because I made my goals public.

I am extremely grateful for the things that I achieved in 2014 and I have a whole new fire to achieve great things in 2015.

You will notice that my Goals are split into each area of my life so that I can achieve what I call ‘Circular Success’. I state my goals in the present tense which helps me to visualize the goal as already achieved. I have less goals this year as I am going to streamline in order to achieve them all.

Health, Fitness & Muscularity

  • It is December 31st 2015 and I weigh 12 Stone with 8% body fat and a clearly visible 6 Pack.

[I set the date as the last day of the year because in 2014 I got in great shape and then let it slide with too many ‘treat meals’ in December]

  • It is April 30th 2015 and I have had 64 Green Juices and Green Smoothies so far this year. (16 Per Month)
  • It is April 30th 2015 and I can easily do 5 ‘Muscle Ups’ with 15kg’s strapped to me

Business and Finances

  • It is December 31st 2015 and my membership site has over 1000 Members
  • It is December 31st 2015 and has 100+ Blog Posts
  • It is December 31st 2015 and my Foreign Exchange Trading Account Easily makes me £2,500 per month in profits
  • It is December 31st 2015 and I have £7,000 saved towards the deposit on our first House
  • It is December 31st 2015 and I have changed the lives of over 1,000 people this year through events, seminars and training programmes, with earnings of more than £10,000 as direct profit from these events


  • It is January 30th 2015 and I easily had enough money in my ‘Play Account’ to go to Barcelona for the weekend with my friends and watch FC Barcelona vs. Villareal.
  • It is December 31st 2015 and me, Katie & Fraizer (New Baby) enjoyed a beautiful break away that was at least 3 days long.
  • It is December 31st 2015 and I easily have enough time for 3 rounds of Golf per month.
  • It is April 30th 2015 and I have had plenty of time to decorate our new Home and prepare it for the arrival of the baby.


[There are one or two goals that I can’t put here just in case Katie reads this post 😉 Needless to say, she will be cared for, looked after and surprised plenty of times]

  • It is August 12th 2015 and my son is now 3 months old and I have got out of bed every time he needed us and I helped support him and Katie in every way that I could and I have associated positive feelings with the disturbed sleep as I am caring for my son.
  • It is December 31st 2015 and every time that Katie needed a break or to relax I was there to look after the Baby EVERY TIME.
  • It is December 31st 2015 and I orchestrated a Family day out every week I was in the country this year.
  • It is December 31st 2015 and I made visiting my family, friends and ‘future in-laws’ a weekly and monthly priority.


  • It is December 31st 2015 and I easily continued my association with The British Heart Foundation, Cancer Research UK and Dementia UK
  • It is December 25th 2015 and I doubled my contribution to the Homeless Shelter and the Dogs Home this year.
  • It is December 31st 2015 and I doubled my Social Media Reach with my positive messages.

Daily Habits & Self Improvement

  • It is December 31st 2015 and I easily completed my unread book collection purchased another 20 books this year.
  • It is December 31st 2015 and I easily did 3 deep breathing sessions per day this year.
  • It is December 31st 2015 and I easily Worked Mastering Coaching Techniques at least 4 times per week this year,
  • It is December 31st 2015 and I did 192 Morning Rituals this year.

My Life Design – How to be Happy, How to Be Productive and How to Achieve Goals Faster

We are always hearing people talk about ‘balance’ when it comes to their life aren’t we? Would you like to create a design for ID-100213932your life so that you will be happier, more productive and achieve your goals faster?

Many people face the challenge that is the balancing of every area of their lives; whether it be the job, the business, the finances, the marriage, the health or the leisure time. I suffered with this challenge for many, many years and even when I first started coaching, I was still challenged by it. That was until I found a way to design my life and act on that design every single day.

I have created and refined this process over the last 3 years learning and applying information from some of the giants of personal development and success like Tony Robbins, Paul Mckenna and many more. During this Blog Post and the video below I am going to talk about  the whole life design process and how I make sure that I am ‘Living Into’ the life I have designed every single day. I am going to share with you how you can design your ‘Ideal Life‘, how to find a purpose in everything that you do, how to have a clear vision of who you are and how to mould these different things into exciting goals and achieve them. Now it is important that I add, that a lot of the information may seem a little ‘Out There’ at first but it isn’t magic. Your Ideal Life

This one of the very first things that I did when I decided that I wanted to create an amazing life for myself and other people. This first step is MASSIVE because having your Ideal Life written down in front of you, that you can read every day will make you excited and open your mind to the motivation because you are aware of the life that you are heading towards.

In my experience people lack this concept of an ideal life in front of them, what I call a ‘Fantastic Future’. People aren’t suffering from a lack of motivation all the time, they just haven’t designed a life to look forward to, so why bother? Why even get up in the morning?

When you were watching the video you saw how passionate and excited I got when I was describing my ideal life and all of the things it is going to entail. I have included my vision below to give you a couple of ideas but the key thing is to design your ideal life based on what is right for YOU because everyone is different. If there were no limits, what you design for your life? What life would excite you? What do you want your life to mean?  Answer these questions and picture your ideal life, take pen and write down everything that comes to mind no matter how far fetched you think that is right now. Here is mine for some ideas (notice how it is in the present tense, which is conditioning my mind):

My Ideal Life

“I am a person that is a true inspiration and leader in the world of personal transformations, personal development, writing, speaking, seminars, sports, health, trading, life coaching and golf.

I am someone who impacts millions of people’s lives through my incredible vision, determination, commitment, courage, compassion, and creativity.

I’m constantly improving people’s mindsets and the quality of their lives. I’m a successful internet businessman that earns a passive income through incredible products and services that make a difference in the lives of others.

I am financially free!

I focus on and do what I love.

I am fluent in French and Spanish.

I am a Master of NLP.

I am a master hypnotherapist.

I grow evolve and develop and develop who I am to reach my maximum potential and then surpass it!

I am the best I can be while sharing those gifts with millions of people through,my coaching,events,books, products and services worldwide.

I’ve built my own Charitable foundation.

We live in a mansion in South Wales with our home gym, library, home office,home cinema, golf simulator and studio.

When you have completed this for yourself, I promise that with repetition and a belief that looking forward to this fantastic future will mean that the quality of your daily life will increase every day.

Why Bother?

The next part of the process is to really get in touch with the reasons why you are here in this life. This will accompany the design of your Ideal Life and answer the question “Why should I even bother creating my ideal life?” My WHY’S pretty much just read like a list and when I read them every day it gives me enough power to do WHATEVER IT TAKES to make my ideal life a reality. My ‘Why’s’ are listed below and hopefully it will help you create yours. Again, we are all different and you can get going by answering questions like “What will achieving my ideal life give me?” and “What will it cost me if I don’t achieve it?”

Why do I Want It?

I am here to humbly serve humanity by being a passionate example of the unlimited possibilities that life offers.

I am here to sincerely love everything in the universe and appreciate the miracle that is everything as well as every moment.

I am here to live life to the fullest because my life has a meaning and a purpose and to honour this is the most powerful way to show my respect for myself and for my place in the universe by endeavouring to become more myself so I can set up strong example of what’s possible for others because I believe that you only have one life and you have to enjoy the process.

I make sure that my friends, family and loved ones are absolutely certain of my love for them.

Who are You?

You have big dreams, you have an idea why you want to achieve those dreams but are you really the person you need to be in order to get it done? A great thing to do is to create a vision of yourself where you keep your ‘true core’ and include features that you know the ‘best version of yourself’ will have. This can even include things that aren’t quite true…yet. You can then grow into this version of yourself. Take a look at mine below to give you an idea of what I mean. You can make this clearer in your head by asking questions like: “Who am I?” and “Who do I want to be?”

Who Am I?

Ideal Health and Body

You may be thinking that this is a long process. It is! However, what you’ll discover is, it’s worth it! Designing your life this way and working out why you want it and who you are is a gift that you will thank yourself for, forever!

Achieve a Goal in 30 Days!

Take one area of your life and work back from your ‘ideal’ and set a goal that will be a stepping stone to that vision when you achieve it! For Example if you wanted a certain level of health and physicality and at the moment you consider yourself ‘lazy’, you could set a goal something like “Over the last 30 Days, I have exercised for at least 30 minutes 3 times per week”. Achieve this and you will be sending a powerful “I can do this!” message to your mind. Every time that you do this in each area of your life, setting the goal isn’t enough, you must execute the final 2 parts of the process with all of your heart…

Robust Strategies and Abundant Action

No matter what your vision is for your life, no matter how noble your reasons might be; you need strategies that are highly workable and be prepared to do a LOT of stuff!

This process isn’t easy but it’s simple. Build an Ideal Life in your mind, why you want it, who you are, set your goals accordingly and then LIFT OFF! When I say ‘robust strategies’ I mean strategies that are designed to be flexible and get results.

Around 3% of people will take action on this to the point where their lives improve forever and that’s cool. Just make sure you are one of them! How to Overcome Fear And Improve Your Life Quickly

ID-100262240As time progresses I am getting more and more passionate about sharing videos and blog posts that contain ideas that have changed my life. One thing that I have had to do consistently is overcome fears. The exciting thing that I have discovered is that you can actually use fear to your advantage as opposed to being paralysed by it. The strategies that I am going to describe have been invaluable to me and some of my clients that have been suffering from the symptoms of fear.

You may be in a situation where you are doing anything and everything instead of doing the thing that you are scared to do. These tools on how to overcome fear will change your life in the same way that they have changed mine. They are the tools that I have learned and developed that allow me to work hard and smart on my goals every single day. They help me to take action on the things that improve my life, they help me to eat well, train hard and build my business.

Each and every time you find yourself not doing what you know you SHOULD be doing it’s because you’re not being totally honest with yourself as to how important the task actually is. You are subconsciously avoiding the things that scare you a little bit even though they’ll take you to where you want to go. That ‘Little Voice’ in your head starts saying things like “Ah it’s okay, you can do it later” or “It won’t make that much of a difference” or “I just don’t want to do it right now” or whatever ever other nonsense the little voice in your head is telling you.

ID-100174428You have to have the presence of mind to consciously say to that voice “STOP!..that is absolute rubbish! Ultimately, what price will I have to pay if I don’t do this right now? What major impact could it have on my life if I don’t do it?”

It is getting head on with the gravity of the situation that will get you back on track and making progress in spite of fear.

I often simplify human behaviour as a drive to gain good feelings or a drive to avoid bad feelings.

If you are not getting on with something, it is because you think that you’ll feel bad in some way if you do it. You have managed to associate bad feelings in some way to the task. This was useful when humans wanted to avoid the bad feelings of being in the presence of a Lion in the wild, however, it is often not as useful now. If you really sat down and thought about how much worse the bad feelings of being obese, with no energy and a likely early grave are than the good feelings of eating that extra cake are you’ll see the power of this idea. We often find ourselves focusing on the immediate good feelings that we will have without considering the long term bad feelings.

There are many Questions you can ask yourself to change your focus to the overall impact on the quality of your life. Here are some that I use to realise the bad feelings that are coming my way if I keep living in this fearful, negative way:

“What will be the overall effect on my life if I keep doing this?”

“What price will I pay in my health, relationships and finances?”

“What will I deny myself in my life if I keep living like this?”

“What has living like this already cost me?”

Here are the questions that I ask myself to induce the good feelings that I will experience if I do the things that will make my life better, even though I may be fearful:

“How will my life improve by doing this?”

“How does doing it move me closer to achieving my BIG goals?”

“How will doing this improve my health, finances and my relationships?”

“Why will I be grateful in 20 years time for doing it?”

ID-10022465I have found that fear can be a sneaky temptress and you can be subconsciously fearful of all sorts of bad feelings that you didn’t even no existed. For example, at the back of your mind, you may believe that if you become a millionaire all of your friends will be jealous and no one will like you. This fear will lead you to link bad feelings to being a millionaire and therefore make you procrastinate and not work on creating financial freedom for you and your family.

The secret is to ask these questions with every choice that you face; fries or salad? Write a business plan or Browse Facebook? Gym or TV? Do you see how often we are faced by these choices?

If you still find yourself not making progress on your goals because of pesky little subconscious fears it is because you haven’t been totally honest with yourself yet.

You cannot get to the point where you know how to overcome fear by just thinking about the good feelings and the bad feelings on an intellectual level. You have to truly FEEL them at your emotional centre. Experience the intense good feelings of being a happy, healthy, success at your very core and experience the overwhelming bad feelings of being an overweight failure and you really are on the road to lasting change.

The fact of the matter is you KNOW that you should be more afraid of what your destructive habits are doing to you but do you actually feel it?

Book Review – You Were Born Rich

Born-RichChoosing a career in personal development is one of the greatest decisions that I have ever made in my life. It has allowed me (and still allows me) to have so much fun learning, growing and consequently teaching from the thoughts of the most amazing authors, speakers and business people. The whole world is full of inspirational mentors and the great Bob Proctor is no exception. Bob Proctor has been involved with personal and professional development for longer than any other human that is alive today. There are a phenomenal amount of happy, successful people that pin their achievements his advice and teachings.

My personal favourite Bob Proctor piece of work is the Book You were Born Rich . It is another one of those self help books that you simply have to read if you are looking to experience rapid personal growth.

One of the greatest things about You were Born Rich is the fact that it doesn’t just speak to the head it speaks to the heart as well. I would imagine that you can relate to this feeling. Isn’t it amazing when someone speaks to the ‘whole you’ and their message resonates with you on a conscious and subconscious level? This book doesn’t just advocate Positive Thinking for the sake of thinking positively it really explains why things like a positive mindset and setting goals are important. You may even find that the messages are conveyed so powerfully that some of your beliefs may be changed immediately.

This book allows the reader top understand how we really are in control of our own destinies and that with a true level of commitment we can achieve what we want to achieve in life. Proctor has the amazing ability to explain to the reader how our thoughts have such a huge impact on the results that we experience in our lives. He talks about laws of the Universe and how we can tune into them to better ourselves.

Twe were born richhe Acorn:

In an enlightening part of the book, Proctor describes the ‘Acorn Analogy’. He outlines how acorns are just like humans (and everything else in our universe) in as much that they are just a mass of energy is a high speed of vibration. Leave an acorn out of the earth and it begins to die. However, the second that you plant the acorn, it starts to attract the energy particles that help the growth of an oak tree. A human being is also a large mass of energy at a particular rate of vibration. This rate of vibration is dependent upon the person’s thoughts and they then proceed to attract the energy that correlates with their most common thoughts. Interesting, right?

This analogy made a lot of sense to me and my and my life because I started to see a potential correlation between the way I had been thinking and the results that I had been getting. An example of this was the way that I had always thought that the best review about we were Born Richway to take care of myself and my loved ones financially was to progress through University as I was doing, ‘get a good job’ that paid well and be done with it. This is very nearly what happened. Luckily for me I made a conscious effort to use the ideas of Bob Proctor (and others) to reprogram my thinking and perceive life in a completely different way.

I now run my dream business, where I can work from home and do what I love most. Which is writing, coaching and speaking on the topic of personal development.

My copy of You were Born Rich is always on show on my book case and I still regularly consult it. It is a fantastic book that will initiate a transformation in your life no matter what or who you want to be. 

3 Lies you Need to STOP Telling Yourself

LiesYou have become an amazing storyteller over the years. You have become so good that all of the stories that you have been telling yourself about why you can’t get in shape, make more money or have your dream relationship have become so believable you should be winning awards. The problem is you keep telling the same stories and making the same excuses they are becoming engrained on to your mind and you are accepting them as reality.

It’s time to write some new stories, don’t you think? Create some new truths that you can live up to. There are 3 common, yet MASSIVE lies that you need to stop telling yourself:

1. “It’s Too Difficult”

Why is it Too Difficult?

It’s too difficult because you are thinking of whatever it is that you are trying to achieve as some Mammoth task as opposed to realising that it can be broken down into much more achievable goals. If I asked you could you run a Marathon tomorrow? The chances are the answer would be a definite ‘no’ (it certainly would be for me!). However, if I said; could you run a Marathon in 2 Years time? The answer is much more likely to be ‘Yes’.

Why the sudden change from ‘No’ to ‘Yes’? What difference would the Two Years make, you’d still be the same person, right?

The answer is simple: Training! You could run to the end of your street tomorrow couldn’t you? Then perhaps next week half a mile, then a mile and so on and so on.

Achieving anything can be broken down like this. It may be extremely difficult and unlikely that you will be a Millionaire by tomorrow but what if you gave yourself 10 years?

Saying that ‘It’s Too Difficult’ is a Lie that you tell yourself so that you don’t even start.

Start small and you’ll get to the Big Stuff.

2. “I’m Too Busy”

I still sometimes find myself saying this in my head and then I think “Jermaine, what makes you so different? Everyone has 24 Hours a Day; It’s up to you to use them wisely”

If you stopped telling this lie to yourself and really woke up to how much time you are letting slip by unnecessarily laying in when you’ve had 7 Hours sleep and you could be up catching up with your dreams. We all (me included) let time idly slip by when we are really doing a whole lot of nothing. Surfing the internet and flicking through the TV channels and the like are all things that get in the way of our progress because time ticks by anyway.

One of My Favourite Motivational Speakers Eric Thomas (aka ET the Hip Hop Preacher) has had a phenomenal journey that has seen him get to a point in his life where he confesses that if he is in bed at 3.45am he is “Running Late”. Are you prepared to adopt that ‘whatever it takes’ attitude to create more time for yourself and create the life that you really want?

I know that it may be a difficult realisation, but the notion of being too busy is a lie. You just aren’t making enough time for yourself yet.

3. No one Will Like the ‘New Me’

Being ‘Normal’ is Highly overrated and the second that you decide to commit to some Major Goal and Take Action you will be on the road to leaving normality. The thing that is holding you back is the lie that no one will Like the ‘New You’.

The Funny thing is that this isn’t a total Lie. There are indeed people in your life who are not going to be happy with the positive changes that you are going to make, they will subconsciously dislike this ‘change’ being thrust upon them. However, you do not necessarily want (or need) these people in your life anyway. The people that support your changes and encourage your development are the people that you should keep close.

The idea that ‘No One’ will like you if make positive changes is a Lie. Some people won’t and Lot’s of people will. I like the way American Comedian Bill Cosby Puts it “I don’t know the key to success, but the key to failure is trying to please everybody”.

7 Things You Need to Stop Doing

7-Things-You-Need-to-Stop-DoingThere are behaviours, attitudes and lifestyle choices that are ruining your chances of being happy and successful. There are things that if you simply stopped doing them  the quality of your life would go through the roof. I spend most of my time writing and speaking about things that you should do but like an overrun garden it is also important to ‘rip out the weeds’ so that all of your new positive habits, beliefs and lifestyle choices have space to grow. Here are 7 Things that you should stop right now:

1. Stop Being Scared of Making Mistakes

To make progress in this life you are going to have to become comfortable with a certain amount and a certain level of risk. You cannot move forward without taking a step. Those ‘once in a lifetime opportunities’ will force you to stretch yourself if you are going to take them. Embrace failure as ‘temporary defeat’ and it will be one hundred times more productive for you in the long run.

2. Stop Worrying About Things That You Can’t Control

Be organized and make solid, workable plans in relation to the things that you can control. Your business, your life, your body; whatever goals you have can only grow based on the amount of time that you work productively on the things that you can control. Worrying about the things that you can’t control robs you of any strength that you should be using to improve your situation. This idea extends to your day-to-day happiness. I know it may be difficult at first but let’s say you are stuck in traffic, rather than worrying and stressing about the situation (which you can’t control). Why not turn the radio up and enjoy the music because that is something that you can control.

3. Stop Taking Things For Granted

Appreciate all of the things that surround you. Pause for a moment and realise that having running water or electricity is not a privilege that is afforded to everyone in this world. In fact there are probably Billions of people who would love to experience the things that you experience on a daily basis, and you don’t even pay attention to them. Change that today. If your parent, child, brother sister or friend gives you a hug. Embrace it, feel it and be grateful for it. That may sound cheesy right now but it is these moments that you are going to be thankful for at the end of your life.

4. Stop Holding on To Emotion

We are all going to have our bad moments and sometimes we have the tendency to ‘bottle up’ all of the emotion that is involved and end up making ourselves feel worse and even make ourselves ill. ‘E’-Motion is ‘Energy in Motion’; let the emotions move through you and let them run their course. Release the emotion, shed the tears; whatever you need to do and then you can get a smile back on your face much quicker after the emotion has been dealt with.

5. Stop Thinking Money Will Make You Happy

Money will only make you more of what you already are. When I hear people say that money will make them happy I respond by asking “do you think that all millionaires are happy?”. Of course they are not. Happiness is moment to moment neuro-chemical event that is most often brought on by magic moments with family and friends like laughter, holding your baby, a passionate kiss and moments of companionship. Allow yourself to be happy whilst you pursue greater wealth if that’s what you desire.

6. Stop Thinking Money Isn’t Important

This may seem like a quick contradiction of number 5 but hear me out. The fact of the of the matter is we all want that moment to moment happiness described above and there are lots of ways to achieve high levels of happiness. However, it is important to realise that you can’t pay the bills with love. Money isn’t more important than anything else but it is just as important. Remember to be financially organised and grow your wealth so you have the security to spend more time creating magic moments with ones that you love.

7. Stop Spending Time With The Wrong People

There are people in your life who are subconsciously (sometimes consciously) bringing you down. Often this is through no fault of their own and if you hooked them up to a lie detector and asked them if they wanted you to succeed they would say “yes” and they would pass the test 100% of the time. It’s not that they don’t want you to succeed, it’s the fact that people don’t like it when change is thrust upon them and you improving yourself qualifies as doing that.

It is also important to avoid people who are negative, pessimistic, don’t make time for you and don’t realize your worth. Never lower your standards to make room for people who refuse to raise theirs.

Get into the habit of being around people that are brighten your day, make you stretch and support you in your quest to succeed.

3 Key Ideas to Help You Master Motivation

ID-100192663A few weeks after I had made my decision to turn my life around, I had hundreds of sheets of paper with notes about ‘how to improve your life’ on them. I really wanted to get myself going and when I started to analyze the notes that I had on motivation it seemed that setting goals was something that kept coming up. I was constantly reading about how the most motivated people in the world were people who set goals, and impressive goals at that. Think about it, does the British runner, Mo Farah run over one hundred miles per week because he is just going through the motions or does he do it because he has the goal of winning Olympic medals?Setting goals is the one thing that got me going and setting and pursuing goals still gets me motivated to such extreme levels that people think that there’s ‘something wrong with me’. Everything about me as a person – my health, my income, my contribution to society, my personality, my happiness have drastically improved because I have mastered the art of motivation through goal setting.

As you read on, it is important that you follow the 4Wheel Drive Goal Setting Method for each area of your life.  When you have a goal for each area of your life and you take action on them all every single day, you’ll notice everything in your life start to improve. I want to share with you 3 Key Ideas to Mastering Motivation.


Think of goals in 3 categories: 1-Goals you know you can achieve, 2-Goals you think you can achieve and 3-goals you actually want to achieve. Type 1 Goals and Type 2 goals create no leverage or inspiration for you. They are exactly the type of goals that mean you have to read this blog post on motivation.  Type 3 Goals, however, inspire you to take action; they are so compelling that motivation is no longer an issue. I’ll give you an example; I used to have the goal of “being a life coach with 10 clients” (Type 1 Goal, I knew I could do this). I then had the goal of, “50 people have been through my life coaching program” (Type 2 Goal, I thought I could this). At the time of writing my goal is now; “to impact the lives of over 1,000,000 people globally through my books, products, seminars and speeches. (Type 3 Goal – This is what I really want!). I don’t need any outside inspiration anymore. I know what I want, I truly believe that I can achieve it and I have no idea how to do it right now but that doesn’t matter.


You have already mastered motivation you just don’t realise it. A true mastery of motivation comes from being 100% committed to something. Do you need to watch a motivational video or listen to motivational music to wash yourself every day? Of course not; you are just 100% committed to being clean and hygienic. You just do it! What if you had this same approach to doing whatever it is you currently ‘wish’ you were motivated to do? It is absolutely crucial that you get in touch with what you are motivated to create in your life every day! This reprogramming process is amazing because I have realised over time that if you don’t program yourself, you will be programmed by the environment and the people closest to you.


If you were in bed and you realised that your house was on fire would you roll over and have ‘5 more minutes sleep’ or would you be MOTIVATED to jump out of bed and get yourself and your family to safety as quickly as possible? You would take immediate action, the REASON being that if you didn’t, you and your family would probably get trapped and die.

The most important factor in being motivated to achieve anything is WHY? Different things act as motivators for different people but we all have certain things that can get us to take action. With a bit of deep thought we can all come up with a compelling list of things to motivate ourselves. There are things like ‘making a positive difference to the world’, ‘becoming financially free’, and ‘doing it for my family’. When these are all aligned you’ll quickly realise that you won’t ever have to worry about being motivated ever again because it is happening whether you feel motivated or not.

3 Ways to Rebuild your Self-Esteem Quickly

Rebuild Self-Esteem QuicklyIt is completely normal to experience a loss of confidence during your life. You may have been through a series of difficult challenges that is making you feel worse about yourself than you normally do. Due to the nature of the way we operate as human beings, there are lots of things that could be making you feel this way. Perhaps you have lost someone close to you, or you had an unexpected career change or you lost some money. The fact of the matter is that many of these things happen to a lot of people and it is your response to what happens that will determine the quality of your life. When you have been knocked down and your self-esteem has hit an all time low, it is the pace and strength with which you get back up that will make the difference.

I am a great believer in the words of motivational speaker Les Brown when he says in relation to ‘bad times’: “it has not come to stay, it has come to pass!” This is very true, you will not be feeling like this forever and there are ways that you can boost your self-esteem; you an see 3 of the most effective ways of doing this, below.

People you Love1. Focus on the People you Love

A rapid way to transform your thinking is to focus on what you have rather than what you don’t have. Research suggests that the quickest way to do this is to consider the people you have in your life. Really allow yourself to focus your mind on these people. They could be parents, children, extended family members, friends, colleagues or teachers. Anybody that you know loves you and you love them. Seek out these people during your down moments, spend time with them, speak with them, do fun things with them. As you do this you’ll notice that you’re feeling better already. Become aware of how lucky you are to have this support, even if it is just one person. It is this human to human support that has allowed people to overcome incredible challenges. Embrace the support and let your self-esteem grow as you do.

Recall Triumphs2. Recall Triumphs from the Past

You already know how to get through tough times and regain your confidence and self-esteem, because you have done it before! Just because you are feeling down right now doesn’t mean that these successful moments disappear from history. To rapidly rebuild your self-esteem, grab a pen and paper and write down every success that you have ever enjoyed. If you are feeling especially down, your judgement is clouded and you feel that you ‘can’t think of anything’; ask someone you are close to, to help you out. Allow everything to come out: exams you have passed, driving test success, sporting achievements, travelling to places you wanted to go. Get as many things down as you can, then review that list and think something like this to yourself: “hey, I really have had a lot of success in my life and I’m going to bounce back from this current situation and there are more successes to come”.

Change the Questions3. Change the Questions in your Head

Ask a terrible question and you’ll get a terrible answer. For example if you sit and ask yourself questions like “Why do bad things always happen to me?”, your brain has to come up with an answer and a whole host of negative information will be fired into your conscious mind. However, what if you were to ask questions like “What is the best way for me to use this situation to make me happier and more successful?” – you’d get totally different answers, right? Use this particular functionality of your brain to your advantage. Come up with a list of powerful, positive questions that provoke answers that will make you feel great and inspire you to take action. Do this as soon as you start to feel down because it it will transform your thinking and rebuild your self-esteem very quickly.

3 Simple Ways to Pulverize Procrastination

Pulverize ProcrastinationHow often do you find yourself doing lots of different things apart from the thing that you should actually be doing? You spend hours on social media, your smartphone, even watching TV. In the modern, fast paced world, we are always looking for some type of escape. This ‘escape’ doesn’t necessarily mean you are doing negative things, either. Early on in my career I found myself addicted to Tony Robbins videos. All of these videos have an amazing message and Tony is my idol but through some deep reflection I realised that I was still ‘escaping’ from the high paced more difficult tasks that I should be doing. A ‘little escape’ now and again can be a healthy thing. However, persistent procrastination will stop you from doing all of the things that matter the most. One imminent danger, is that you’ll start to think very negatively because you’ll start to feel that ‘you never get anything done’.

I am all about action so I’d like to share with you the 3 Simple Strategies that I use to ‘Pulverize Procrastination’.

Get the Most Difficult Task1. Get the Most Difficult Task Out of the Way

Business man and speaker Brian Tracy is a big fan of the phrase (in fact he wrote a book called), ‘Eat that Frog!’. What he means by this is; getting the thing that is perhaps the most difficult, time consuming or least enjoyable done first. It could be an uncomfortable phone call, an email clear out or a report that you have been putting off. Doing it first will allow the rest of the day to feel like a breeze and you’ll enjoy moving through the rest of the items on your To-Do-List and it will be much easier. This one little change to how you approach your day can make a big difference.

2. Don’t See a Task as Bigger Than it Actually is

Sitting there and ‘thinking it to death’ only makes the task seem bigger. You allow yourself to over-think it, which results in you constantly putting it off. The fact that this is happening means you are thinking about what you have to do in a negative way and by not doing it, you are just protecting yourself from you perceive to be a painful experience. My philosophy is, “Jermaine this is the task you have to do, take action on it straight away and it will become smaller and easier by the second”.

Do it3. If You ‘Should’ do it……’Do it’

It is so common for us to hear ourselves say ‘hmm, I probably should do this or I should do that. When you hear yourself saying this, it is usually a pretty good indicator that it definitely has to be done, so just do it now! This was a massive change for me because I used to be terrible for saying that I ‘should’ do things. You can do what I did and start playing a little game with yourself. Start with small things; if you think ‘I should wash the dishes now’. Wash them straight away! Soon you will take this skill into every aspect of your life and you’ll become the type of person who just ‘get’s things done’.

The 6 Rules of Success that I learned from Arnold Schwarzenegger

Rules of SuccessI have known for some time that feeding your mind with inspirational books and audios is very important. In the early days I came across a portion of an Arnold Schwarzenegger speech where he outlines his ‘6 Rules of Success‘. When a man moves from Austria to America to pursue his dreams, becomes the world’s best bodybuilder, a Hollywood Actor and then the Governor of California he may know a thing or two about success. He has written books, made successful documentaries, the list goes on and on. When you listen to him speak about how his rules of success apply to all aspects of life, goals and dreams, you sit up and listen. He talks with such passion and authenticity it is almost hypnotic. Here are ‘Arnie’s’ 6 Rules of Success

1. Trust Yourself

Arnold’s first piece of advice is to trust yourself, no matter what anyone else thinks. Whether it be friends, colleagues or peers; trust yourself because you believe in yourself and in your vision. He instructs you to really dig deep and find out from within, who you want to be. This will allow you to follow your dreams and do what you want with your life, no matter how crazy it sounds to other people. This has been massive for me in my life; there is no way I would even be sat writing this blog post if I hadn’t trusted myself. I have had to trust myself many times on my journey because I have relentlessly pursued my dream of being a successful coach, author and speaker in the face of people thinking that I’m ‘nuts’.

2. Break The Rules

Mr. Schwarzenegger knows that if you are going to be a ‘true original’ you have to think outside the box. His philosophy is: “what is the point of being here if all you want to do is be liked by everyone”. I have read many times that a certain road to failure is trying to please everybody. Many people have criticized how much I have done in order to turn my life around, but that is who I am now. I have had to break certain ‘rules’ of my peer group along the way and I am happy that I have because this has contributed significantly to my development.

Successful people like Arnold know that if you harbour a fear of failure within you, you will never step out of your comfort zone and push the boundaries. It is essential to keep pressing forward and believe in your vision because you know that this is what gives your life meaning and success will come.

4. Don’t Listen To The Naysayers

When you have a larger vision of yourself and you announce what your plans are, there are going to be people that show up and tell you that it can’t be done. IGNORE THEM. If you listen to the people that tell you that you can’t do it then failure is inevitable because you believe that it won’t happen for you anyway. Listening to Arnie’s advice, whenever someone says something that I wan’t to achieve ‘won’t happen’ I absolutely love it because it is like free motivation. Take absolutely no notice of the people that say it can’t be done.

5. Work Your Butt Off

Arnold Schwarzenegger is famous for his incredible work ethic. Without it, he probably wouldn’t have achieved all that he has achieved. Arnie knows that when you are aiming to be at the top of any field there are other people vying for your spot. Remember that when your messing around and procrastinating someone else is working hard and making process. Arnie also says that none of his rules of success will work, unless you do. I can really relate to this rule because I have always had a relatively low work ethic and I used to ‘coast’ quite a lot. However, my life has improved dramatically since I have committed to getting up at 5.30am every day and working extremely hard on every one of my goals.

Giving Back6. Giving Back

Arnold is very aware of the fact that using your time and money to help other people will be the most rewarding thing that you can ever do. All successful people that are truly fulfilled live by this rule. I made my biggest charitable contribution of my life so far on Christmas Eve of 2013 by going to the supermarket and buying a load of food and taking it to homeless centre. I know that it may sound a bit clichéd but my heart literally felt warm. That is true success.
