2014: Goals Achieved & Crucial Lessons

Time to Evaluate Clock Review or Assessment Management

At the end of each year I reflect on how far I have come, the goals I managed to achieve, goals that I didn’t achieve and the lessons that I can learn. I first came across this idea when I was listening to a Jim Rohn audiotape. The great Mr. Rohn believe that you should reflect on the previous year for 2 major reasons: Firstly, to notice and celebrate all of the successes of the year. By taking the time out to celebrate your achievements you are reinforcing your belief to go ahead and achieve more goals. I also believe that the feeling of gratitude and pride that this process will give you is absolutely priceless. Secondly, reviewing the goals that you didn’t quite achieve allows you to ask some powerful questions so that you can do even better next time. What did I learn? What’s the best thing that will happen as a result of not achieving the goal? By going through the process of finding the positive lessons in each ‘failure’ you are making sure that you don’t make the same mistakes again and refine your processes for the next year.

2014 was the proverbial rollercoaster for me; there were holidays of a lifetime, family tragedies and illnesses, book releases, seminars, a pregnancy and more.

Goals Achieved and Accomplishments

Here the goals that I achieved and other accomplishments in 2014 that I am grateful to have created.

  • Did a 60 Day, 0 Carb ‘Protein and Green’ Eating Plan
  • The above allowed me to get down to 7% Bodyfat (Although this is technically a missed goal as my target was 6%. Still an accomplishment.

My Key Lessons from 2014

  • Going for too many goals at once can cause you to become confused and even stressed. Complete one goal at a time and then move on to the next one.
  • It is something that I always knew intellectually and I really started to practice it in 2014 and that is: what you THINK from moment to moment really will be the major factor in your happiness. Train yourself to focus on what you’re grateful for and to see the beauty in each moment and happiness will follow.
  • Remember to have fun with your friends. I know that people who write about personal development sometimes get caught up on working constantly and I used to be one of them. I realized in 2014 that you have to get out, socialize and enjoy the company of others to really nourish your spirit. Going back to working hard and achieving other goals will then be easier.
  • Being Healthy is easier than you think. Although I have gone to what some people would perceive to be extremes in the past to create rapid results and cure my asthma I have gotten to a stage where health and energy is easy. I make sure that I manage my mind when it comes to craving ‘bad’ foods, have a green juice, a green smoothie, my supplements and lots of greens with every meal and the rest easy. I have also realized that your ‘treat meal’ should be simply enjoyed with no negative feelings afterwards.
  • Nothing feels quite like giving to those with less than you.
  • Helping kids is amazing and they are like sponges. Give them good information and they will act on it and create great results.
  • Make sure that when you create an action plan (to do list) for the day, you mark the Top 3 items that you have to get done. These are the items that will contribute the most to your goals when compared to the rest.
  • The Foreign Exchange is a vehicle for long term wealth.
  • Separate yourself from that automatic ‘Little Voice’ and your true core. That ‘Little Voice’ is lying to you and holding you back by creating fears and excuses. Tell it to shut up and move forward!
  • It is important to keep improving no matter what. There is no destination only continual progress.

Even though 2014 came with it’s challenges, it was an amazing year and 2015 is going to be even better. For the first time I am going to publicly share my yearly goals to create a high level of accountability. Please keep up to date below:

My Life Design – How to be Happy, How to Be Productive and How to Achieve Goals Faster

We are always hearing people talk about ‘balance’ when it comes to their life aren’t we? Would you like to create a design for ID-100213932your life so that you will be happier, more productive and achieve your goals faster?

Many people face the challenge that is the balancing of every area of their lives; whether it be the job, the business, the finances, the marriage, the health or the leisure time. I suffered with this challenge for many, many years and even when I first started coaching, I was still challenged by it. That was until I found a way to design my life and act on that design every single day.

I have created and refined this process over the last 3 years learning and applying information from some of the giants of personal development and success like Tony Robbins, Paul Mckenna and many more. During this Blog Post and the video below I am going to talk about  the whole life design process and how I make sure that I am ‘Living Into’ the life I have designed every single day. I am going to share with you how you can design your ‘Ideal Life‘, how to find a purpose in everything that you do, how to have a clear vision of who you are and how to mould these different things into exciting goals and achieve them. Now it is important that I add, that a lot of the information may seem a little ‘Out There’ at first but it isn’t magic. Your Ideal Life

This one of the very first things that I did when I decided that I wanted to create an amazing life for myself and other people. This first step is MASSIVE because having your Ideal Life written down in front of you, that you can read every day will make you excited and open your mind to the motivation because you are aware of the life that you are heading towards.

In my experience people lack this concept of an ideal life in front of them, what I call a ‘Fantastic Future’. People aren’t suffering from a lack of motivation all the time, they just haven’t designed a life to look forward to, so why bother? Why even get up in the morning?

When you were watching the video you saw how passionate and excited I got when I was describing my ideal life and all of the things it is going to entail. I have included my vision below to give you a couple of ideas but the key thing is to design your ideal life based on what is right for YOU because everyone is different. If there were no limits, what you design for your life? What life would excite you? What do you want your life to mean?  Answer these questions and picture your ideal life, take pen and write down everything that comes to mind no matter how far fetched you think that is right now. Here is mine for some ideas (notice how it is in the present tense, which is conditioning my mind):

“I am a person that is a true inspiration and leader in the world of personal transformations, personal development, writing, speaking, seminars, sports, health, trading, life coaching and golf.

I am someone who impacts millions of people’s lives through my incredible vision, determination, commitment, courage, compassion, and creativity.

I’m constantly improving people’s mindsets and the quality of their lives. I’m a successful internet businessman that earns a passive income through incredible products and services that make a difference in the lives of others.

I focus on and do what I love.

I am fluent in French and Spanish.

I am a Master of NLP.

I am a master hypnotherapist.

I grow evolve and develop and develop who I am to reach my maximum potential and then surpass it!

I am the best I can be while sharing those gifts with millions of people through,my coaching,events,books, products and services worldwide.

When you have completed this for yourself, I promise that with repetition and a belief that looking forward to this fantastic future will mean that the quality of your daily life will increase every day.

Why Bother?

The next part of the process is to really get in touch with the reasons why you are here in this life. This will accompany the design of your Ideal Life and answer the question “Why should I even bother creating my ideal life?” My WHY’S pretty much just read like a list and when I read them every day it gives me enough power to do WHATEVER IT TAKES to make my ideal life a reality. My ‘Why’s’ are listed below and hopefully it will help you create yours. Again, we are all different and you can get going by answering questions like “What will achieving my ideal life give me?” and “What will it cost me if I don’t achieve it?”

Why do I Want It?

I am here to humbly serve humanity by being a passionate example of the unlimited possibilities that life offers.

I am here to sincerely love everything in the universe and appreciate the miracle that is everything as well as every moment.

I am here to live life to the fullest because my life has a meaning and a purpose and to honour this is the most powerful way to show my respect for myself and for my place in the universe by endeavouring to become more myself so I can set up strong example of what’s possible for others because I believe that you only have one life and you have to enjoy the process.

I make sure that my friends, family and loved ones are absolutely certain of my love for them.

I am here to feel excited about my life and what I can give, share and experience.

I am here to have an amazing time, create an unbelievable and inspirational story and leave behind a legacy that grows and inspires my friends and family for generations to come. Who are You?

You have big dreams, you have an idea why you want to achieve those dreams but are you really the person you need to be in order to get it done? A great thing to do is to create a vision of yourself where you keep your ‘true core’ and include features that you know the ‘best version of yourself’ will have. This can even include things that aren’t quite true…yet. You can then grow into this version of yourself. Take a look at mine below to give you an idea of what I mean. You can make this clearer in your head by asking questions like: “Who am I?” and “Who do I want to be?”

Who Am I?

I’m an extraordinary, passionate and loving man who loves people, family, friends, animals, changing lives & ideas that make a difference.

I love to discover and be creative. I love nature, beaches, beautiful scenery, travel, adventure, oceans, rivers, mountains, lakes, sunshine, wildlife and breathtaking views. I’m a massive source of inspiration. I’m a man with exceptionally high standards and excellent daily habits.

What is your Vision? Why do you Want it? and Who Are You? In Every Area of your Life!

To really crank up this process you also need to do the above for every area of your life (Health/Fitness/body, Finances, Career,  Relationships, Contribution/Charity etc.) As an Example, my Health/Fitness/Body version is below:

Ideal Health and Body

I am 12 Stone  with 7% body fat, I am vital, healthy, energetic, athletic, muscled and ripped. I have a clearly visible 6 pack. I look in the mirror and smile and I feel proud. I feel outstanding, I have a high self-esteem, I feel confident. I am an inspiration for others.

Why?

I enjoy being muscled, toned and an inspiration for others. I enjoy being confident. I enjoy having non-stop energy. I enjoy the fact I am going to live beyond 100 years old. I enjoy staying young, healthy and vibrant.

Who Am I?

I’m a an athlete. I’m a manifestation of vibrant health and energy. I’m a peak performer. I’m an exemplar of physical health, vitality and strength.

You may be thinking that this is a long process. It is! However, what you’ll discover is, it’s worth it! Designing your life this way and working out why you want it and who you are is a gift that you will thank yourself for, forever!

Achieve a Goal in 30 Days!

Take one area of your life and work back from your ‘ideal’ and set a goal that will be a stepping stone to that vision when you achieve it! For Example if you wanted a certain level of health and physicality and at the moment you consider yourself ‘lazy’, you could set a goal something like “Over the last 30 Days, I have exercised for at least 30 minutes 3 times per week”. Achieve this and you will be sending a powerful “I can do this!” message to your mind. Every time that you do this in each area of your life, setting the goal isn’t enough, you must execute the final 2 parts of the process with all of your heart…

Robust Strategies and Abundant Action

No matter what your vision is for your life, no matter how noble your reasons might be; you need strategies that are highly workable and be prepared to do a LOT of stuff!

This process isn’t easy but it’s simple. Build an Ideal Life in your mind, why you want it, who you are, set your goals accordingly and then LIFT OFF! When I say ‘robust strategies’ I mean strategies that are designed to be flexible and get results.

Around 3% of people will take action on this to the point where their lives improve forever and that’s cool. Just make sure you are one of them! Get The Happiness Habit

 

Three quarters of people in the UK are unhappy.

That is 75 people out of every 100 not living the way that they would like to live on a day-to-day basis. Now, many of you are now shifting in your seat and feeling uncomfortable as you sit there thinking: “Am I part of that majority?”

“Am I one of those unhappy people?”

You’re about to find out……….

I’m going to outline: The ways in which people virtually, guarantee, their unhappiness.

I’m going to move on to give you some practical tools that will allow you to ‘choose’ to be happy and I am going to talk about how choosing to be happy all of the time can improve EVERY area of your life.

So, how do people make themselves unhappy?…….It is a combination of 3 main factors:

The way they move

The Pictures they make in their mind and

The way they talk to themselves.

Starting with the way they move how many of you know someone who just by the way they carry themselves makes you feel down? They could be saying the most positive things in the world but they carry themselves in such a way that their brain cannot possibly allow them to feel good. People often say to me “Jermaine, I just can’t understand why I feel so down all of the time, I’m a positive guy? ”Really? you could have fooled me my friend”. Consequently, when they are in that physical state their mind will proceed to offer up negative images. Like the golfer who straight after he hits the poor shot immediately and almost proudly states “I knew that I was going to put that in the water!” How did they know? Because as they gingerly approached the ball, they felt unhappy about hitting the shot and they ‘seen’ it in go in the water in their minds before they even swung the club. The chain of negative processes can then continue when we start speaking to ourselves in a way that we would never speak to anybody, ever! We say things like: “You are such an idiot! Why can’t you do anything right?” It is easy to see how unhappiness is pretty much guaranteed if we approach life and situations like this on a regular basis.

So what are we supposed to do about this? How can we choose to be happy and control our state?

It is very simple, we take conscious control over the most powerful computer in the universe, our brains and we make it a habit to take control of the way move, the images we make in our minds and the way we talk to ourselves.

Firstly, make a conscious, deliberate determined effort to hold yourself as if you were the happiest person in the world and your biochemistry will follow suit. If you are worried that people will think you are crazy then just laugh to yourself at the fact that they are in fact the crazy ones because they are taking no action towards improving their personal happiness.

Secondly, I’d like you to think of the worst movie you have EVER watched everybody got one? How many of you would watch it again?

So why is it that when something bad happens to us we relive it and watch it and relive it watch it over and over again?

Just wipe the screen of your mind and CHOOSE to hold an image in mind that makes you feel good.

Finally, be extra vigilant about what you are saying to yourself. Successful entrepreneur John Assaraf said “be very careful what you say to yourself, someone important is listening….YOU!”

How many of us know someone who says things like “These things ALWAYS happen to me” or “I’m so unlucky”. We have to be very careful about what we say becoming self fulfilling prophecies, unless of course you say “I’m ALWAYS happy, healthy and confident!”

Aristotle said “we are what we repeatedly do, excellence, therefore is not an act but a habit”

So if we are what we repeatedly do, getting into the happiness habit will have a positive effect on every area of your life, from your health to your contribution to humanity.

The happiness habit will allow you to be healthier, which will allow you to have more time and energy to create and build better relationships. Some of these relationships will be with clients, colleagues or superiors which will lead you to go further in your career which will improve your finances which will improve your leisure time and your ability to help people that less fortunate than yourself, which I believe is the greatest gift we can give to humanity.

GET THE HAPPINESS HABIT!

Tiger Woods, Russell Brand or Tony Robbins?


Life is constantly changing and I believe that it’s important that we find our purpose. For me it has moved from being a professional golfer, through an alcoholic womanizer and finally to a personal development guru. It has been a weird and wonderful journey for me so far and I’d love to share it with you…….

I’m excited to talk to you how I could have been a professional golfer, I could have been dead by age 19 and how I now aspire to be the pre-eminent personal development coach on the planet.

I wasn’t in to golf at all. However, all of that changed when I seen Tiger Woods win the US Masters in April 1997. I was a 9 year old boy without what you might call a ‘hero’ at this point. When Tiger burst on to the scene I was amazed at how COOL golf had become overnight.

Over the next 3 years I began caddying for my dad and watching the golf on TV. It wasn’t until 2001 that I had my own full set of clubs and by 2002 I was in the Wales team. Everything was happening so fast and I really thought that I was capable in following in the great man’s footsteps; I was even negotiating a scholarship at Arizona University.

My world came crashing down when I broke my arm in a silly changing room incident in school; I didn’t pick up a golf club for 18 months and started to move towards the second phase of my young life…….

From 16 onwards, now that golf had taken a back seat I was free to in any direction. Unfortunately, I chose the wrong one! My life became an 8 year whirlwind of drinking, womanizing and gambling. I became the ringleader of what any parent would call ‘the wrong crowd’ and I was drinking the equivalent of 12 Bottles of vodka and 12 bottles of wine every week.  During one particular scary week I had an episode where it felt like my heart was stopping. It turned out that I was having alcohol induced ventricular ectopics, which is when your heart gets confused, stops and then resets itself.

At 22 I finally got to a point in my life where ‘Enough was Enough’…..

With the help of Tony Robbins, I turned my life around, completed my Masters Degree with a distinction and started, what is now a lifelong quest into researching, success, happiness and personal development. I spent 2 years reading over 100 books and changing myself for the better in every area of my life. It is now my life’s mission to help as many people as I can change their lives for the better.

As you’ve already heard, it was my original perception that I was destined to be the next Tiger woods. This was not meant to be and I spent some time believing I was destined to be the next Russell Brand (minus the fame and fortune)

NOW, my purpose is clear I am destined to dedicate myself to changing lives in a similar to Tony Robbins.

I am now at ease with myself and my life. I jump out of bed, every day, excited and I am now chasing my dreams (and gaining on them).
